Thelma Dungan - Thelma Dungan passed away on July 3, 2012 in Santa Rosa at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late William Dungan Jr., DVM. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Dungan of Petaluma, Dana (Bill) Yearsley of Salinas, CA, and Jan Dungan of Petaluma. She was grandmother to Billy Yearsley of Bakersfield and Brett (Skye) Woodward of Rohnert Park; she was great-grandmother of Lauren Yearsley (Bakersfield), and of Connor and Collin Woodward (Rohnert Park). She is additionally survived by her dear sister Esther Kissling, beloved niece Elizabeth Blumenstock, great-niece Susannah Blumenstock and great-nephew Daniel Blumenstock, all of Oakland. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Schertz and brother, Gordon Hudson; she is survived by nieces and nephews through them. She is also survived by countless wonderful friends and colleagues, as well as generations of â??her kidsâ?? that she taught at local elementary schools.
She was also an active volunteer for Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) and Hospice of Petaluma.

Box 2744, Petaluma, CA 94953. Inurnment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park Thelma grew up in Bakersfield, California. Upon graduating from Kern County High School, she did some college coursework interspersed with wartime effort jobs, the last of which was teaching at the one-room Lakeville Schoolhouse in the late 1940s in Petaluma. During that time she met and married Bill Dungan. After their children were born, she finished her BA and obtained a teaching credential from Sonoma State College in 1963.
