Theo Morris, Jr.

June 2, 1935 — November 8, 2017

THEO MORRIS, JR. passed away on November 8, 2017 in Rohnert Park at the age of 82 with his family by his side.  Devoted husband of Claudette Morris.  Cherished father of Craig Morris (deceased), Tracy Morris Blakely, Jerome Morris (Mayrose), and April Page (David).  Adored grandfather of thirteen and great-grandfather of five.  Survived by brother Freeman Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.

Theo was born, reared and educated in Marshall, TX.  After college, he enlisted in the US Army.  He served his country for 23 years and retired in 1995 at the rank of Master Sergeant. Also during this time, Theo worked as a business manager for the Social Security Administration.  Active in the Petaluma community, Theo was a founding member of Petaluma Blacks for Community Development and volunteered with the Girl and Boy Scouts. He was a man of great faith and an active member of Petaluma Christian Church.  He valued education and served on the school board for O.A.D.S.  Theo had a passion for singing and was a faithful member of the Golden West Singers and the Vintage Senior Choir in Rohnert Park.  Above all, Theo loved his family.  He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial Service, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Petaluma Christian Church, 1160 Schuman Ln., Petaluma.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Petaluma Blacks for Community Development, P.O. Box 2045, Petaluma, CA 94953.  Inurnment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
