Thomas Paul Callen - CALLEN, THOMAS PAUL" One month shy of his 88th Birthday, third generation San Franciscan and long time Santa Rosa resident, Tom Callen died peacefully on May 18, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Tom is survived by Ruth, his wife of sixty-eight years and the love of his life. He is also survived by his identical twin, Bertram. He will be sorely missed by his devoted children Tom and Lynne, Tim and Marlene, Chris and Linda, Ruthie and Tom Kurpinsky and Liz and Urs Schopfer. He was adored by his twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Tom was extremely proud to be a World War II Veteran serving in the 13th Bomb Group in the Army Air Corps Division-Pacific Theater. He was a teamster for Local 85 before the twenty-five loyal years he served in the San Francisco Police Department. Tom was an outdoorsman and loved life. An avid hunter, backyard astronomer and golfer; his favorite foursome was playing Bennett Valley with his three sons. He leaves many cherished relatives who will never forget "the life of the party"
