Timothy Patrick Brannan

d. June 29, 2022

With sadness we announce the passing of Tim Brannan on June 29, 2022, just short of his 66th birthday. There is so much to be said, to be reminded of; what is certain is the impossibility of sharing that all here.

Tim was born in Sacramento, CA and spent his early years growing up in Lafayette, CA before moving to Incline Village, NV in the late 60’s. He loved to ski, the mountains and lake. He was a contractor/carpenter and spent the next 40 years living and working in Cotati and Rohnert Park. There are many homes that have been made more beautiful by Tim’s skillful carpentry.

Tim was funny (at first, he used to say), serious (barely), a good friend (always) and a (kind of) talented impersonator. He had a wicked sense of humor, he could get you laughing so hard. At least his “Ronald Reagan” was funnier than the original. His “real estate guy” was mostly just Tim being Tim. And then there was “Bob Forehead” who reported on the news of the day.

Tim was also a storyteller, a tall storyteller, of which there was an endless supply.  After you got to know Tim you knew that 50 percent of each story was true. The challenge was deciding which half was true, and which was a stretch, offered to us for our entertainment. On reflection, it is difficult to remember if any of his stories were sad. It is possible that he showed his love for us by way of these stories.

Above all, Tim loved his daughter, Sarah Kay.

His love and friendship is the hardest to recount, simply given the challenge of conveying its depth. If you were the recipient of these, cherish them and remember Tim for the best parts of him. Tim was an original and he will be missed.

There will be no memorial service.  You are encouraged to make your own celebration of his life. He did not designate any charity, but if you need one to commemorate his passing, don’t forget that he had a cat, Mikey, that he dearly loved.
