Tobias E. "Toby" Lujan - Died March 2, 2012. Toby was born on May 2, 1935 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Tobias and Maie Lujan. He was the eldest of 14 children and was raised in New Mexico, Colorado and then settled in California. He is survived by 10 siblings.
Toby worked as a journeyman carpenter all over San Francisco and Sonoma Counties. He volunteered his skills after he retired at the Petaluma High School wood shop up till last year. His favorite place to shop was the lumber yards everywhere he traveled. His hobbies were playing cards of any kind but his favorite was poker. Toby also coached CYO basketball and senior league baseball for many years, and umpired and refereed for them too.
At the request of Toby there will be no services. The family desire that memorials be made to Petaluma COTS, Special Olympics, local food banks or to your favorite charity. During his high school years, he attended Polytec High where he excelled in football and received awards for his efforts. Directly after high school he joined the Marines and worked as a Military Police officer for 3 years, during the Korean War.
