VanLith Norbert - Born in Minnesota on June 4, 1927, Mr. VanLith passed away at his home in Santa Rosa on September 8, 2007. Lifetime companion of the late Madeline Brown. Adored by her children Betty (Jeff) Smith and Kathy (Chuck) Hanisch. He was grandpa Norb to Shannon Robbins, James Smith, Kelly Propst and Christopher Dunn. He was the youngest of five children and is survived by two sisters and numerous nieces and nephew, all of which reside in the Midwest. Mr. VanLith proudly served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He retired from the City of Santa Rosa Street Maintenance Department. A talented metal and wood worker, Norb was also a gifted gardener. He was known especially for his vegetables and beautiful roses. Norb looked forward every fall to returning to the farm he was raised on in Minnesota and helping his nephew with the harvest. Norbsâ??s quiet strength and gentle nature will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma. Entombment to follow at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
