Verlie Eldeen Rohde

Verlie Rohde, 98, passed away at home on November 8, 2021, after living her entire life in Petaluma.   She was a homemaker and consummate volunteer for many organizations including the Petaluma Valley Hospital Auxiliary, Children's Home Society, Sacks Hospice Thrift Store, & the Petaluma Food Kitchen.  She held offices in most of the organizations and one year was the recipient of the Sonoma County Volunteer of the Year award. She enjoyed spending time with her 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.  She was the light of our lives.

Verlie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Melvin (2011); her parents Agnes & Fred, and her brother, Emile.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandi Kelly (Dennis) & son Doug (Jan).   She leaves 4 adoring grandchildren, Darren Rohde (Erin), Michelle Kelly (partner Mark Bagley), Jeff Rohde (Tasha), & Lauren Hudson (Evan).    She was fortunate to have 6 loving great grandchildren Sean & Ethan Rohde, Declan & Quinn Rohde, and Oliver & Collins Hudson.  She will be sorely missed by her entire family and her dear friend, Mila Kina.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 @2:00 PM at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Verlie's favorite charities, Sacks Hospice Thrift Store, 128 Liberty St., Petaluma 94952, or to one of your own choosing.
