Verna J. Olson

Passed away on July 18, 2017 in Santa Rosa at the age of 79 years.  Devoted mother of Kevin Olsen (Barbi), Jennifer Walker (Austin), and Joanne Goodin (Jim).  Beloved grandmother of Jimmy, Marie, and Madison.  Loving sister of Lorene Proud and Marilyn King.  Survived by several nieces and nephews.

Verna was born in Ontario, WI to Lenore and Alfred Olson.  The family moved around quite a bit, but they finally settled in Cloverdale, where Verna graduated from Cloverdale High School.  For 17 years, she worked at Nancy’s Fancy’s in Santa Rosa as the store manager.  Later, Verna managed the Redwood Meadows Senior Apartments in Santa Rosa for over 10 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and playing Words with Friends.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She looked forward to her weekly dinners with her son Kevin, and she never missed a Sunday brunch with her daughter Jennifer.  Verna was an amazing mom and a wonderful woman; she will be greatly missed.
