Victor Anthony Brain

Entered into rest peacefully with family and friends at his side after a short illness on the evening on February 6, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Katherine Brain, and is survived by his loving family: Children; Jennifer Curtis, Christopher Brain, and Victor Brain. Sisters; Linda Schaap and Joanne (Bob) Oropeza. Nieces; Natalie Oropeza and Tiffany Oropeza. Grandchildren; Taylor, Jack, Ryan, and Dana and his loving life partner Ronnie Jean Wilson and her son Steven Turner . He is also survived by his aunt; Ramona Brain, and many caring cousins and their families. A native of San Francisco, CA, he graduated from Sacred Heart High School and later worked through the Hod Carriers Local Union for over 20 years, including restoring some historic buildings in the City, before starting his own contracting business in Santa Rosa with his partner and long-time close friend, Joe Bizaca. A talented drummer, Victor played music with well-known musicians, talented friends, and bands, ranging from Rock and Roll in the early days at the Filmore Auditorium to the Blues. If he was not tuning his drums, which he was fanatical about, he was spending time with his family. He espeically enjoyed spending every moment he could with his grandchildren. He was a hard-working perfectionist when playing his music, which was a passion he had all his life, but he also enjoyed wood-working projects, restoration, listening to music, talking with friends and telling stories. Victor was a generous, caring, and kind soul, and was dearly loved and admired by his family. He also won the hearts of his many friends and will be deeply missed by all. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409). Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery-Sacred Heart Lawn (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404).
