Walter Joseph Schultz, Sr.

May 28, 1924 — April 11, 2017

Walt was a resident of Santa Rosa, CA, who died peacefully in his sleep on April 11, 2017, at the age 92. Born in Owosso, MI, Walt joined the Navy at 17 and served in the Pacific in WWII. Through a Navy buddy, he met and married Ann in 1945; they moved to Santa Rosa in 1947. Walt worked for the U. S. Postal Service and many summers at the back gate of the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. He was in the Navy Reserve and a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Young Men's Institute. He loved golf, the Giants, his grandkids and bingo. Walt is preceded in death by his wife Ann (in 2001) and second wife Trudy (in 2005). He is survived by his baby sister, four children, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11 A.M. (10:50 A.M. Vigil/Rosary) at the Cathedral of St. Eugene, 2323 Montgomery Drive (Corner of Montgomery Drive), Santa Rosa, CA, 95405. Private inurnment; Star of the Valley Mausoleum-Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2930 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA, 95404). Funeral Mass
