Walter R. Smith

Passed away in Petaluma, CA, April 25, 2021, husband of Kim Marie Smith of Petaluma. Brother of Hoot (Linda) Smith of Petaluma and Jim (Jackie) Smith of Bodega Bay. Uncle of Kirk (Alexis) Smith and Ryan (Kelly) Smith of Petaluma. and the late Brendan Smith. Great uncle of Jason, Jaden, Aiden, Keira Smith

Walt was born in Petaluma, October 23, 1945, attended St. Vincent schools, graduating from SVHS in 1963. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam and after his discharge returned to the Petaluma Post Office as a letter carrier where he retired in 2000 after 36 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf.

He was a member of SIRS and VFW Post 1929.

Private family services were held and private inurnment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family prefers memorials be made to the Heart Association or to Hospice of Petaluma.
