Wayne Arthur Lepori

Died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 7th in his home, at the age of 87. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rita, his two daughters, Sharon Jones (Randy) of Rohnert Park and Linda Clark (Dave) of Sonoma. Adored grandfather to Rachel Alkire (Steve) Lincoln, Melissa Jones (Tom), Santa Rosa, Shannon Clark, Petaluma and Bridget Clark, Santa Rosa. Proud great-grandfather to Arthur Thomas Kelly, Santa Rosa and Andrew Steven Alkire, Lincoln. Wayne was born October 30th, 1928 in Petaluma to Julius Lepori and Vera Terribilini. Wayne served proudly in the US Army, in post WWII Germany. After discharge he met Rita and they married in 1950, settling and making their happy home in Petaluma. Wayne worked for Diamond National Lumber in Petaluma where he retired after 30 plus years. Wayne was an active member of the Lions Club and Elks Club of Petaluma. Also a member of the Petaluma Golf and Country Club for over 40 years, where he had many good friends and enjoyed many afternoon rounds of golf, including his most famous hole-in-one. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses and doctors of Hospice of Petaluma for all of their loving and compassionate care over the last year. Wayne was blessed to have a dedicated caregiver, Liti, who not only took care of him but also the entire family. Thank you Liti. All are invited to attend a Vigil Service at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma, on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 7pm. Visitation will be at the mortuary from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday. Funeral services will be private per Wayne's wishes.
