Will was born on Jan. 7,1942 in Sabetha, Kansas. His parents, Betty and Dale Goetsch predeceased him as did his half sister, Kim Kerr of Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Knudsen) and his half sister Diana Coffman of Kansas. He is missed by his sister-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Will graduated from Petaluma High School in 1960. His college years were interrupted by his 1963-1967 adventure with the US Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. He resumed his education following his military discharge earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 and a Master's of Science in 1978.
After 26 years as a Laboratory Scientist with Kaiser Permanente, Will retired to assume his new job as chief patch and mender at their "new" home...the old chicken ranch where Elaine and her sisters grew up. Despite the long hours, he was up to the task and took great pleasure in the endless projects. He was a skilled fixer upper.
Will enjoyed his late in life affiliation with the Fraternal Organization of Druids.
He was a devoted husband and son and is deeply missed.
As per Will's wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember him can donate to the Alzheimer's Assn., 4340 Redwood Hwy., Suite D-314, San Rafael, CA 94903-2041 or Hospice by the Bay, 17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Larkspur, CA 94939.
