William H. Bihn

WILLIAM H. BIHN, born September 27, 1961, passed peacefully July 22, 2014, at UAMS, Little Rock AR, after 5 years of suffering and loss, in the presence of the loves of his life; his strong wife Sherri, brave son William McCarthy (Mac), 12 and dedicated daughter Fiona, 9. Bill, a native son of Petaluma, St. Vincent High School alumni, and longtime resident of San Anselmo, an avid fly fisher, loved the moments he spent coaxing trout onto his flys. Surfing and cycling, coaching and cheering on his children as they followed the traditions of Sherri and Bill's love for athleticism and the outdoors, fired his life. Bill was preceded into heaven by his Mother Mary Jane Bihn and Father Dr. John Bihn of Petaluma. He was cared for and loved by his 7 siblings Mary Ann, Theresa, John Jr., Cecilia, Josephine, Bridget and Kathleen, admired and loved by his 19 nephews and nieces, many in-laws, and by his cousins, the many children and grandchildren of Bill's godfather, the recently departed Dr. Angelo Leoni of Petaluma. Faithful to the Church, Bill will be remembered at his Rosary, 5 pm Sunday August 10th and funeral mass 1:00 pm, Monday, August 11th, both at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Petaluma. A Reception will follow at the Petaluma Golf & Country Club. Bill found grace in the course of this aggressive cancer. In the time spent at UAMS receiving advanced treatments, Bill was an inspiration and trusted ambassador to other patients. Fully present and engaged, he developed deep bonds with the UAMS community, dedicated to the cure of multiple myeloma.
