Passed away on July 31, 2013. Devoted husband for over 50 years to Dolores Merriman Bondietti of Petaluma. Father of William Daniel Bondietti of Homer, AK and grandfather of Brian Bondietti of Billings, MO. Dear brother of the late Frank Bondietti. Nephew of the late Evelyn Brocco Whitehead and William Brocco. Son of the late William Daniel Bondietti and Angelina Brocco Bondietti Guidotti. Survived by several nieces, cousins and a nephew.
Bill was born in San Francisco, February 2, 1929, but grew up on the family dairy in Point Reyes. After he graduated from Tomales High School, Bill and Pete Poiani, enlisted in the Army during Korean Conflict.
When Bill left the dairy business he went to work in construction, working on roads and freeways. He was transferred to Seattle and this is where he met Dolores. They moved back to Petaluma to be close to family and friends.
Bill and his mother were able to visit her home town in Semintina, Switzerland and he and Dolores took another trip to Europe with Pete and Isabel Poiani. They made a special trip to Alaska to vacation with his son. He enjoyed hunting coast deer, raising hunting dogs, and restoring cars and taking them on road trips. Bill worked hard and also enjoyed planning ‘get-togethers', social events with friends and especially the Giacomini Black Jack Tournaments.
A member of Druids, Native Sons, Sparrow Hunting Club, Swiss Club, Sonoma Marin Italian Club, and Elks Lodge #901. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Oaks in Petaluma for their special care of Bill.
Friends are invited to attend a cryptside service, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 11:00 am at Calvary Catholic Mausoleum, 304 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma. The family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma, Petaluma Animal Shelter or to your favorite charity.
