Wilma B. Bravo - Passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the age of 91, in Sacramento, CA. Wilma was the daughter of the late Oliva and Peter Bravo, early pioneers in Petaluma. Born February 16, 1919 in Petaluma in a home built by her father in 1913. She lived in the same house for 91 years until she became too ill to live by herself. She was educated at St. Vincent Schools in Petaluma and attended Business College. Wilma was a pioneer in women's liberation and worked for 34 years as an executive secretary for the Sonoma County Coroner's Office, retiring in 1974. She also cared for her mother, Oliva until her death in 1986. Wilma gave unconditional love to all who were fortunate enough to be in her life. Wilma had a loving and close relationship with her neighbors and their children on Paula Lane, and was known for her love of animals. She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and St. Vincent Y.L.I. #108.
She is the beloved sister of Henry Bravo of Elk Grove and the late Arthur Bravo. Loving sister-in-law of Linda Bravo of Elk Grove and the late Ruth Bravo. Dear aunt of Charles Bravo of Albany, CA and the late William Bravo and Mark Bravo. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
