Yoshiko Yamasaki

February 23, 1926 — November 1, 2019

Passed away in Petaluma, CA, November 01, 2019. Devoted wife of the late James R. Yamasaki, loving mother of Ronald Yamasaki (Lillian Nishihara), Arnold Yamasaki (Joanne Atkerson), Patricia Yamasaki, Robert Yamasaki (Kate Yamasaki), Janet Yamasaki (Bob Luttrell), and Karen Yamasaki. Cherished grandmother of Cassandra Allison (Nate), Courtney Feldscher (Chris), Grace Luttrell, Mark Luttrell, and Matthew Hammer.

Born in Vancouver, Canada in 1926, Yoshiko, moved with her family to Japan when she was eighteen. She met her husband Jim in Japan, where they married in 1951 and then moved to Petaluma in 1952. She worked in the poultry industry for many years before retiring after the age of seventy.

Yoshiko was a member of Enmanji Buddhist Temple, Sonoma County JACL and Enman No Tomo.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY AND CREMATORY 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, CA 94952. Private inurnment took place at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the dedicated nurses and care partners at Petaluma Valley Hospital who cared for Yoshi with unwavering dignity and respect during her final days.
