Zane "Wes" Wesley Gray

December 23, 1955 — March 24, 2022

Zane Wesley Gray, known by everyone as Wes, passed away March 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Deborah J. (Genazzi) Gray of Sebastopol. Loving father of Nathan (Rosa) Gray of Sebastopol, Jason (Angel) Gray of Windsor, and Randy (Carly) Gray of Sebastopol. Cherished grandfather of Tim, Trevor, and Brooklyn. Son of the late Zane and Frances Gray, brother of the late James Gray, Sandra Gray, and Betty Lorraine Gray. Brother-in-law of Ellie Genazzi and Dan Genazzi. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Wes was born in Healdsburg, CA, December 23, 1955, and attended the Watson School, Harmony School, and graduated from Analy High School in 1973. Always involved as a heavy equipment operator and logger throughout Northern California and later at Canyon Rock in Forestville. He later joined the Marin County Fire Department as a Heavy Fire Equipment Operator and Firefighter until his retirement after 27 years of fire service. All the while, working on his days off for Spur Corporation and then starting his own business of Gray & Sons Excavating in Sebastopol.

Wes was a person who was always ready to help others, loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, camping, hunting, bbqing and his dogs.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date and private inurnment will be held at Olema Cemetery.
