Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home on, April 12, 2023 at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband for 68 years of Bernice Martinoni. Loving father of Rosie Martinoni, Jimmi (Julie) Martinoni, Karen (Leonard) Simas and Allan (Lisa) Martinoni. Cherished grandfather of Christopher (Crystal) Kehoe, Matthew (Manu) Kehoe, Dustin (Elizabeth) Martinoni, Crystal (Cory) Norris, Julia (Wylee) Buck, the late Trevor Simas, Eric Martinoni, Melissa (Martin) Ramos and Arika Martinoni. Dear great grandfather of Tara and Austin Kehoe, Paloma and Jaima Norris, Luca Martinoni, Brooke Buck and Madison Ramos. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Heinle, Frank Martinoni and Americo Martinoni. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and devoted caregivers, Maggie and Litia.

Alfred was born in Petaluma and was reared and educated in West Marin, graduating from Tomales High School. A dairyman all his life, he was well known in the dairy industry in Marin and Sonoma Counties. Alfred was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1950 to 1951 in the 1st Calvary, 180th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Platoon, where he received the combat infantry medal plus several other awards. He was an active member for many years in the I.C.F, Sons of Italy and the Druids.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private Graveside Services for the family will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Tomales Regional History Center or to the Darren Burbank Scholarship Fund, c/o Tomales High School.
