Barbara (aka Pip and Sashie) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 1, 1940. Her parents were Catherine and Max Iller. When she passed, she was living with her beloved husband, Bob (Robert) Steiner in Petaluma, CA where they called home for 48 years.
Barbara lived a full life. In Milwaukee she received her RN certification from Misericordia Hospital. Her specialty was working as a post-partum nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Barb and Bob were married in Milwaukee on April 16, 1966, at Mother of Good Counsel Parish. They moved to Madison in 1971 and adopted their son Jeff shortly thereafter.
In 1974 the family moved to northern California to open Barb’s Hallmark shop in Novato, CA. During Barb’s 49 years in the Petaluma area, she stayed active through many volunteer activities including an in-home day-care and 18 years in the Corona Creek Elementary School library. She lovingly touched the lives of many, many children and their families and is fondly remembered.
At Barbara’s request there will be no memorial service. If you’d like to offer a remembrance, donations to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/, would honor her wishes.
