Edward Joseph Kavanaugh

Born November 18, 1938-passed away April 24, 2023 after a brief illness. Edward was born and raised in San Francisco. He attended St Gabriel’s Grammar School and graduated from St Ignatius High School. After graduation he entered the Jesuit Seminary leaving after four years and then graduating from the University of San Francisco.
He marries Judith Connors in 1963 and their first son, Geoffrey Kavanaugh(Kristi), was born in 1965. In that same year, he began teaching at St Vincent de Paul High School in Petaluma. Other children include Dominic Kavanaugh(Coreene) and Adrienne Kavanaugh (Robin Kulasingam). Beloved grandchildren Connor Kulasingam, John Kulasingam and Lauren Kulasingam. Maxwell Kavanaugh, Roxanne Kavanaugh. Cullen Kavanaugh and Lena Kavanaugh.
Ed taught History at St. Vincent de Paul High School-and later became principal comprising a forty year career at the school. He enjoyed classical music, the theater and the friendships of many people whom he taught, counseled and relied on his rare combination of experience, wit, counseling and compassion for others. He will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Saint Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma, Ca.
