A service for Kenneth will be held September 23 at 10 am at Parent Sorensen Petaluma.
Ken left this life to join his wife of 53 years, Laurie Ellen Kaehler, who passed away in May of 2014. There to greet him were his parents, Alfred and Millie Kaehler, 6 of his siblings, his in laws Robert and Laurine Cook. Ken was born in Alexandria, Minnesota and raised around Hancock, Minnesota.
Ken began his courtship with Laurie Cook on October 12,1958, he was just 17 years old. They married in October of 1961 and moved to Petaluma CA. There they raised their 5 children, Steve, Daniel, Loralee, Robert and Kenny Ray.
In addition to working hard everyday to provide for his family he enjoyed the leisure time he spent with them, racing, camping, casinos and traveling with Laurie. He was also a master craftsman. After his retirement he spent extended periods of time in Minnesota. Spending time with family and friends and let's not forget his love for farming. He also brought many hours of enjoyment to his mother in law Laurine with a deck of cards.
Ken was a gifted craftsman building furniture, cabinets, and counters. His work was always meticulously completed. He brought his special talents to repairing motors, large and small, truly a jack of all trades. He was able to stay in his own home with the daily support of Loralee and her family. He continued to work on creative projects until the week before he passed.
He is survived by his 5 children; Steven, (Deborah), Daniel, Loralee Kolsom (Mathew), Robert (Anna)and Kenny Ray, he also had 6 grandchildren ,4 great grandchildren ,4 siblings, and many nieces and nephews. With his family at his bedside and special calls in his final hours Ken passed away peacefully being comforted by Loralee and Kenny Ray.
Ken was always ready to help someone even in death he donated his skin and bones to help cancer patients, burn victims and even science.
