On October 6, 2023, our loving father, brother, and friend Nicholas Victor DaCosta (Nick) left this world in Cotati, California with his family by his side.
Nick was born in Azores, Portugal – Father, Manual DaCosta (deceased), Mother, Mary V. Azevedo DaCosta (deceased), sister, Nicoline DaCosta (deceased). Survived by Son, Nicholas J DaCosta & (Bonnie), Daughter, Janeen M White & (Paul). Grandchildren: Matthew & Hope DaCosta, Trent & Seth White, Gracie (Jason), Meggie (Cory) & Michael White. (5) Great-Grandchildren: Eddie & Evangeline Nielsen – Charlie, Graham & Bella Sichi.
Nick was a kind, generous and thoughtful man who was known for his work ethic, athletic ability, and smile. Always sharing advice and knowledge of life experiences as well as a helping hand. He also trusted to a fault at times. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Nick came to this country at the age of 15, attended Vallejo High School where he played sports, attended JC and was a semi-pro football player (played against San Quentin State Prison), weightlifting, boxing & racquet ball. He was also an instructor at Kentwig.
Nick began his career at PG&E and was also a welder/machinist at Golden Gate Bridge. He also followed his dream and had a dairy in Merlin, Oregon. He returned to California and worked at Golden Gate Bridge until he retired in 2005. Nick remained in Sonoma County for 60 years.
Member of the Holy Ghost Society, Druids and infamous Henny Pennys Coffee Club.
Nick loved his children & grandchildren, enjoyed riding horses over the hills of Chileno Valley and Bodega Bay. Loved the outdoors always fixing, welding, and creating, a true MacGyver. He was charming and witty and always had a smile.
We will miss his smile, charm, and hugs.
