Patricia Ann Groverman - Patricia Ann Groverman passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 5, 2012. Born June 4, 1937 to E. Cecil and Josephine M.(Salani) Humble, Sacramento and attended Sacramento Schools. She was employed at the Sacramento Bee Circulation Department from 1955-1958. She met Frederick Groverman at U.C .Davis and they were married July 20, 1957, while he was in his last year at Veterinary School. After Fredâ??s graduation they lived briefly in Petaluma and moved to Rohnert Park while the Cotati Veterinary Hospital was being built. In 1962 they moved to the ranch where Fred was born. They designed and built the home they have lived in since 1963. She is survived by her husband Frederick of 54 years and children Karen Vietheer (Jim) of Wilton, James Groverman (Cindy) Petaluma, Judith Groverman Walker of Santa Rosa, William Groverman (Christina) of Petaluma, adored grandmother of James Gunnar Walker, Lauren Walker, Megan Groverman, Justin Groverman, Elizabeth Vietheer, and Kimberly Groverman. Pat was a founding member of the Petaluma Chapter of the Childrenâ??s Home Society organized in 1959 and she served for 25 years; an active fundraiser of the Petaluma Chapter of the American Cancer Society; and President of the Waugh Elementary School PTA. She spent many hours working for 4-H in Sonoma and Marin Counties. She was a club leader for Rolling Hills 4-H Club, County Poultry Leader, and the Coordinator for the Sonoma-Marin Dairy Replacement Heifer project since 1986. She coordinate the Sonoma County Fair Steering Committee, was a member of Hillcrest and Petaluma Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and an active member of the Friends of the Hospital. She received many honors including Marin County Friend of 4-H in 1996, the Sonoma County Fair Exhibitors Guide Book was dedicated to her and her husband in 1997, and she was named Friend of 4-H for Sonoma County with Fred in 2004. In 2006 she was inducted with Fred into the Sonoma County Farm Bureauâ??s Hall of Fame and an annual scholarship for the 4-H Dairy Replacement Heifer was named in her honor in 2009. Family and friends are invited a visitation on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private funeral services for the family will be held, with entombment at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Sonoma County 4-H Foundation, 6445 Commerce Blvd., Rohnert Park, CA. The family would like to extend their thanks to everyone who helped in providing her with care and comfort including Petaluma Valley Hospital, St Joseph Home Care Network, Hospice of Petaluma, Pacific Home Care and Jipa Senibuli. Donations may be made in her memory to 4-H Dairy Replacement Heifer Committee Fund, or the Sonoma County 4-H Foundation at P.O. Box 1283, Rohnert Park, CA 94927.
