Born in Delleker, Ca. passed away in Petaluma at age 89. Ralph grew up in Westwood near Lake Almanor, an area he considered perfect.
He had many interesting experiences in life. He was a pitcher for the major league baseball team Saint Louis Browns, he served in the US ARMY where he was stationed at Ft. Ord. After the Army he worked in law enforcement in Red Bluff and Marin County.
His career as a motorcycle officer with the California Highway Patrol came to an end when a deer in Samuel P. Taylor Park jumped off an embankment and took the motorcycle and the rider down causing serious injuries. Unable to continue with the CHP, Ralph went back to college and earned a degree in Computer Science. For 35 years he worked for Crown Zellerbach and then James River Corporation. Ralph participated in Art Trails Open Studio for 18 years, creating beautiful artwork using wood. He was a 45 year member of Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor 193.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maria and Epigmenio Ramirez, sister Josephine Ramirez, granddaughters Mary and Faith Ramirez, brother Joseph Ramirez (Jeanne), sister Luisa Barber (Raymond), brother in law Emery LeBaudour, and sister Mary Alice George (Bill).
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Barbara, daughter Rachel Ramirez, son David (Jennifer) and grandchildren John David, Stella, Henry and Joseph Ramirez, and sister Grace LeBaudour.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service. Inurnment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery
