Salvador Re Obituary

Salvador (Sal) Antonio Re passed away on September 28, 2023, in Santa Rosa, California, at the age of 92.

Sal was born in San Jose, CA on July 31,1931. After graduating from Analy High School in Sebastopol, Sal attended Santa Rosa Junior College where excelled in sports including basketball and track & field. Sal enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1951 and proudly served his country until being honorably discharged in 1954.

Sal was a small business owner and he operated a grocery store (Sal’s Market) in Lake County for most of his professional life. He was known for his generosity and support of the local community. He received the Lake County Man of the Year award in 1983 for his service to the community. Sal loved fishing and he made many fond memories with his sons on fishing trips. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed supporting his beloved Giants, 49ers, and Warriors. After retiring, Sal returned to the family ranch in Sebastopol where he grew apples, gardened, and lived happily the rest of his life.

Sal was preceded in death by his long-time partner Virginia Silvers. Sal is survived by his sons Mike Re and Sal Re, grandchildren Bailey Leigh, Brittany Re, Taryn Re, and Salvador Re, and five great grandchildren. The family will celebrate Sal’s life at a private gathering.
