Mafalda Fiorentino Obituary

Mafalda Elsa Ceraldi Fiorentino born in the province of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 21,1929 and passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 5, 2021. Mafalda was the daughter of Francesca Tommasini and Vincenzo Ceraldi. She was a beloved sister to her surviving siblings, Walchiria Ceraldi and Michele Ceraldi and of the late Giuseppe, Paolo, Mario, Antonio, Angelo and Nicola Ceraldi. She was the cherished wife of the late Gennaro Fiorentino and treasured mother to Raffaele Giuseppe Fiorentino (deceased), Elvira Silvia Fiorentino, and Caterina Lucia Fiorentino (Dominique Toulon). Mafalda also was an adored grandmother to Julian Dominique Toulon and an admired aunt of many nieces and nephews in Ohio and Italy.

Mafalda grew up in Mondragone, Italy, where she was a proud member of her parish of St. Nicola and active in church choir. She was a devoted caregiver to family and community working throughout her town to administer medicines, injections and attending to the sick.

Mafalda moved to the United States with her husband in 1958 where they settled in San Francisco and then Petaluma. She was an inspiration to all for her exemplary role as homemaker and matriarch over their 60 + year marriage.

Mafalda leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, selfless dedication and true richness of spirit for which all who knew her will remember her and hold in their hearts.

Visitation will be held, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, with the Vigil Service at 7:00 pm, at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY and CREMATORY, Petaluma. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Petaluma. Entombment, Italian Cemetery, Colma, CA.
